  • Watching The New Pornographers rock out last month in Dallas, I found myself with a HUGE girl crush on Kathryn Calder. Though everyone loves Neko Case (and they should), Calder’s really come into her own with the group, with her wispier voice more suitable for certain NP songs. This album, Calder’s debut solo album, was written for Calder’s mother, half-sibling of NP lead singer Carl Newman, and it’s something any mother would be happy to hear.
