Art Brut is at its best when frontman Eddie Argos is a little bitter and a lot of shouty. In his rant against an ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend, Argos jokes, “I bet he signs his name in Comic Sans”. I mean, ouch. Brilliant! Tragic! is such a fitting title for this album.
Plus, as a bit of a comic book nerd, it’s totally rad that they got Phonogram’s Jamie McKelvie to design the album cover (and the cover for the first single “Lost Weekend”) and decided to release a comic book with this album.
