Edge of the Ocean
Why does it seem that so many good singers these days are not from the U.S.? Ivy’s Dominque Durand is a native of France, and her accent reveals itself ever so subtlely in “Edge of the Ocean” in the most beautiful of ways. The song from their 2001 album “Long Distance” has been featured several times on television yet it appears that Ivy, for the most part, goes largely unnoticed. After seven years, the song is still fresh, still as pure as ever with its simple yet complex melodies and beautiful vocals.
