The Knocks - “Dancing With The DJ”
Last night, I went to see my favourite British pop starlet Ellie Goulding. The Knocks opened the show, proclaiming “Let’s have a forty minute dance party!” They then proceeded to play the best damn show by an opening act I’ve ever seen with some of their remixes of hits by Imogen Heap and The Killers alongside their original material. The crowd was feeling it, shouting along lyrics when asked to and dancing their asses off during the drops of some really sick discohouse tracks. The two boys were around after the show to hug fans and generally say ‘sup’ to the crowd. They also @reply to anyone who mentions them on Twitter, giving thanks to their fans and offering condolences to the disgruntled folks in the crowd who tweeted about disliking them (seriously, called. the. FUCK. out.). It’s clear that at heart, The Knocks are two deejay boys who love to make people dance.
Their tracks are up for free on their website. Grab them because they’re great stuff to dance to, and show up early if you’re seeing Ellie Goulding to watch these boys do their thing.
