Much like a resurrected trend from the seventies, the meshed-together elements of Island, IS evoke a dreamy nostalgia of memories nonexistent, and with this, they hit home with something clever and beautiful. Of course, that familiarity is not ill-fit: Volcano Choir’s sound is a collaboration between Justin Vernon of Bon Iver and alumni from Collection of Colonies of Bees. The album, Unmap, is to be released on September 22nd.
