“Nardis” is clearly one of Bill Evan’s favorite compositions, being recorded countless times on countless records over his long career since 1956, but the mystery of who originally wrote it has yet to be solved. Evans always said that the legendary Miles Davis is the man responsible for the song. However, Mr. Davis never even recorded a performance of “Nardis” and claimed that Evans was the true composer. No one to this day knows who the real creator of this enchanting masterpiece is. I think that’s the way it should remain: beautiful and mysterious.
