Heavenly - “Hearts and Crosses”

Heavenly’s better known for their full length album Le Jardin de Heavenly and their song “C is the Heavenly Option”. But there’s something terribly brilliant yet sad about this EP, which is a conceptual piece about date rape. Although the subject matter is obviously very dark, the songs sound like the same twee tunes that Heavenly’s famous for, jolly and light hearted as ever. The result is an EP that I’ve been seriously obsessed with over the last couple of weeks.
