Kanaan Warsame is known for his wandering. Not only do his albums follow the theme with titles like Dusty Foot On The Road and Troubadour, but his name literally translates into “traveler”. He has wandered just as far too. He and his family escaped Somalia in 1991 and then lived in both NYC and Toronto. All his traveling has affected his music style, ranging from African vocals to synths to electric guitar. His insightful lyrics are important and transfixing.
