Modeselektor - “Pretentious Friends (feat. Busdriver)”

Modeselektor are so good at what they do that it hurts. If you don’t believe me, listen to Thom Yorke, who loves them so much that he’s collaborated them on several occasions. These Germans’ abilities span across the varying levels of “electronica”; Monkeytown includes some more ambient electronic tracks like the ones that Yorke provides vocals for as well as truly bass heavy club bangers. “Pretentious Friends” is more in the latter category of “club banger” with a mad, driving bassline. Busdriver provides some raps about pricks, acting as that dude at a party who hits on every Asian girl. Too real.
