Unknown Mortal Orchestra’s self-titled debut is one of the most underappreciated albums released this year, having been shrouded by big-name releases like Watch the Throne and 4. But even though it lacks the mainstream appeal of Kanye and Beyonce, “Ffunny Ffriends” still manages to be on repeat while I’m doing work. (Yes, classes have finally started for me.) Where Crystal’s recent post brought back early 00’s pop-punk, this UMO song brings hope of a psychedelic revival.
They’re playing everywhere this fall, proving the band is not as elusive as the name suggests, so go check ‘em out.
